HMS (Heavy Melting Scrap) has two grades as HMS1 and HMS2. HMS is widely traded and is the obsolete scarp and this is iron and steel obtained from demolished and dismantled items. The main difference in HMS1 and HMS2 is that HMS1 doesn’t have the blackened and galvanized steel, whereas HMS2 does.
HMS is traded as a mixture of 1 & 2, premium blend 80:20, lower grades 70:30, 60:40. While other main heavy scrap grades are provided.
